Check out the 16 ga. reloaders group. There's a bunch of 2.5" 3/4oz-1 1/4oz loads listed on the spreadsheets on the site. I think it's $20-25.00 to join the reloaders group. The URL listed will take you to the 16 ga Society site, and from there you can find information on joining the group.

http://www.16ga.com/

Although I haven't tested the load yet, one I pulled from the spreadsheets is:

2.5" RST hulls
CCI209 primer
19.5 grains 7625
GU1621B wad
1 oz shot

I'll probably try this load tomorrow on a round of trap.

Hello Pawnbroker, What type of 2 and 1/2 inch 16 gauge reloading tool do you have to use ??? What type of CRIMP do you want to use ?? A Star Crimp or a Roll Crimp or a Hartten Crimp aka an over the shot card with a star crimp. Jent

This one works for me

2 1/2 inch 16ga.Cheddite hull
Cheddite primer
19 grains Solo 1250 powder
7/8/ oz. shot
Gullandi wad I got from Balistic Products. Graff and Sons was out of them
I got hulls from Graff's and cut them down. I made a slide to cut ten at a time for my table saw.

Regards, Gordon

My fav target and dove load.

15.5 gr. Green Dot, SG-16 wad, 3/4 ounce shot, NO wad pressure, no filler, 1205 fps, 7000 psi.

Absolutely destroys targets and good, clean kills on the doves.

Hello Pawnbroker, Do you have a MEC CASE CONDITIONER in 16 gauge to resize and deprime your empty 16 gauge hulls and get them ready to feed into your MEC 650 PROGRESSIVE RELOADER ??? You will need a cut off die made from a piece of pipe to shorten your 2 and 3/4 inch shells to 2 and 1/2 inch shells. There will be enough of the original crimp memory remaining in your shortened plastic hull to make star crimping in the HARTTEN style, spelling may be incorrect, easy and nice. You will need 16 gauge over the shot wads or 20 gauge over the shot wads to hold the shot in with the star crimp going around the edges. You can also use SPREADER WADS from POLYWADS, if they make a 16 gauge one, to go on top of the shot. Good Shooting To You, Jent --- jentpmitchell@msn.com

16 GA 2.5" 'RED' Cheddite hulls (factory 2.5 uncut)
Remington STS 209 Primer....
7/8 oz. 7.5 hard lead shot....
B&P TWZ2M16 Wad or CH1628B Wad...with one Cheerio under shot
14.5 grains of Unique........MEC 21 Bushing
8 star precision crimp (steel die)....

Kill or breaks anything you shoot at (as long as you hit it)...
Easy on the guns too..!

Best Regards,

Doug

Precision Reloading - 800-223-0900 - nice folks, South Dakota

Graf & Sons usually only has the Cheddite's....

F.Y.I.: Gordon:..I use these two wads specifically because of their size and "THEY DO NOT LEAVE PLASTIC RESIDUE IN YOUR BORE" !!

Best Regards,

Doug
