Gentlemen I am new to older American doubles. Knowing little, but wanting to get in the game I humbly ask your opinion on this gunbroker Ithaca listing #100045502. I see Puglisi has this gun listed for $1495 on their site. Would I be terriby wrong if I bought it? Thanks for your thoughts Mike B.

It seems you are terribly wrong about the #100045502, it says, " The selected item [100045502] is not valid or has been removed from the system due to age.", so I can't comment on it...sorry!

Gentlemen: I apologize profusely! In my excitement, I was completely wrong as this is a Guns International listing, not a Gunbroker listing. I apologize for taking your time, but it seems to me this gun under GunsInternational # 100045502, or especially at Puglisi's Guns Emporium listing at $1495, started the little voices in the back of my head screaming to buy it. I hope some of you will deign to give it a look and give me your opinion. Mea Culpa, Mike B.

I found the gun on the Puglisi site. Its a nice example of mid life Flues gun. My question to you is what do you want to do with the gun?

Hello Gentlemen Again I apologize for my mistake as to listers. At Guns International it is listed at a price of $1750, but at Puglisi's site it is listed at $1495? Have to check. Have emailed them with most of the questions I see you guys check out. was thinking of having a good smith check it out and maybe redo the chokes for grouse, woodcock, and perhaps decoyed ducks. Would some one like Mike Orlen be able to open them to approximateley .007 & .020-.022? Would only use mild loads. Thank You Mike B.

WHY oh WHY, does it seem as if everyone wants to mess with chokes before using the gun as they intend to??I think a lot of people read too much and dont shoot enough. Learn to shoot em! I just had to "fix" a choke someone messed with, and left the bbl oval....GEEZ.........Mike if you like the gun, and want it, buy it. Shoot it awhile, get to know it, and then worry about the chokes. All of the guns I own and and shoot, seldom are the misses the guns fault...Even with Amarillo Mike as my shooting coach, I still miss once in a while...not often..

Re: last dollar Unlike birds of the plains, grouse and woodcock are taken in close. SHOOT FAST OR DON'T SHOOT! A hit with those chokes would leave me with a nice pile of feathers. Try taking your roosters at distances of 15-25 yrds with tight chokings. "Bon Appetit! Mike B.
