Saw a second generation Parker dbl bbl. origionally with two triggers. One of the triggers appeared to have been cut off almost flush with the receiver enabeling one bbl at a time to be fired using the single trigger. Can this be converted back to a dbl trigger setup using parts from a spare receiver or has this single trigger alteration complicated things? Thanks. P.S. The single trigger doesn't look like a Parker trigger. Would appreciate your professional thoughts as I've given the seller a deposit and now have limited time to come up with the funds to pay for the gun.

This sounds odd. Pictures would help. Cutting off the front trigger won't allow the gun to fire both barrels, only the left barrel. It is possible, although very expensive and difficult, to convert a single trigger Parker to double triggers or vice-versa. Many new internal parts needed (including trigger plate) and stock inletting is not the same. A spare receiver would be needed (and possibly a spare buttstock). This is according to Jack Skeuse at Reagent Chemical when I inquired about converting a ST Parker Repro to DT (there are sure a lot of single trigger Repros out there for sale!).

I do not agree completely Joe. I had a gun come into my shop that was originally a double trigger 16ga DHE that was converted to single trigger by a very enterprising gunsmith. I do not believe he used any extra pieces, but did need to fabricate a few new ones. The gun is owned by a board member here. I think I took pictures of it, I'll check next week. As to whether the gun the original poster asked about an be converted back, I could not say with out removing the floor plate and having a good look around.

Doesn't sound tough to me, it's making double triggers into single that's tough.

The triggerplate on some types of single triggers is milled out to a wide slot encompassing both original double trigger slots.

That would require either replacing the triggerplate as Joe was told, or welding a filler in and recutting the two slots for the double triggers.

Post a few good close-ups and maybe I or someone else can shine some light.
