The bottom line is we never know who is lurking on these forums. That's the reason I don't use my whole name in posts and just loosly list my location as Arizona. The primary reason I DON'T post on the Parker forum is the requirement to use your real name. I told them I'd start posting there right after I finished putting the "GUNS INSIDE" beacon on the roof of my house. IMO There's no good reason to court trouble and advertising you collect guns is sure one way to do this. Jim

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean that they aren't out to get you.

Will,
It took me about one minute to google up the precise location of your house with directions...That's why people use screen names and do not put addresses on these fora....(or forums if you went to A&M)

I agree but not worried.Quailnut,N.Y. would not let anyone find you but we would know what area you live in.Folks in my area know me as Amigo Will and there are many Amigo brothers looking out for me so no one would be foolish enough to enter without and invite. Most everyone on the forum is welcome.

Yea Joe ! You are two of them,Schizophrenia rules okay. Seriously though I think you are worrying too much.Data shows that most crimes of a specialist nature, ie art or arms thefts are subject to research. So if the baddies want your guns they for sure will do their research and know where you live. We just had a recent case where they followed a guy for miles and when he stopped for a rest break they broke into his car and stole his gun.If they had been smart they could have stolen it from the gun club earlier whilst it was in the gunrack.Saving fuel and not damaging his car.But of course we are discussing low lifes here. No Joe, not you, relax.

I think Will is trying to purge his soul now, for all the fake names he's used in the past.

Right on the money "Goombah". I won't post on any forum that wants your real name- too easy for the felons that "case" these web sites to find you, especially if your name is Archibald Stanley Holbrooke 111- now Joseph Smith, might be another story. I like EDM's posts on this forum, never met the man, but he, old Homely Joe and I have one common thread- all of us are "shit-canned" from the Ole Professional Golfers Caddy's Assn. site- in my case, perhaps because I inherited some great Walter Hagen "Haig Ultras" and didn't care to divulge swing weights and shaft lengths- or maybe because my balls weren't "Up to their Par standards" I play Titelist 90 compressions to a 4 handicap-
I have two retired "Staties" for close neighbors, am home a lot, and as my time in "Uncle Ho's Playground- 1 Corps-" taught me survival skills- my home is somewhat secure- unlisted address and phone number, Browning fireproof Gun Safe welded in a heavy channel floor frame anchored into a poured cement floor- BUT- never say never-My Grandfather always said that a "padlock will stop the idiots, but there is always someone who can pick the lock open"- Best two preventions are: Good reliable neighbors, not always easy to have in this "Yuppie" world of "Screw-you Jack, I'm first" and a big friggin guard dog- no batteries, no codes to trace with a drive-by laptop, etc.
Also, no NRA or any hunting/gun owning stickers, decals or plates on your vehicles-no "A Smith & Wesson beats 4 Aces" signs-Best warning sign ever, unfortunately used by the Japs in WW11 and the Gooks in 'Nam was a severed head on a fence picket post- sure as Hell gets your attention and if it don't tell you "KTFOJ", you will soon be VSF'd". Hello Will,
I changed my profile to humour you.

Were we talking about names? I thought it's where we are from. It's enough for me to know that Will is in Texas. Members' location provides my mind's eye with a notion---who can know?---of topography, hunting opportunities, and political atmosphere of the state or country. As for security, I don't think of it. I don't know anyone whose home has been broken into. Doors aren't locked around here. I'm known as a gunner, active in pro-gun; anyone can find me.
