Late to the party but may be a bit helpful.
In researching H.A. Lindner, and his family, I found no evidence that he was related to Edward Lindner. This, of course, does not preclude later documentation of such connection.
Best,
John

A nice C.E. Overbaugh sourced thru Schoverling, Daly & Gales:

"Prussian-made Charles Daly 12ga regent Diamond Grade, barrel marked “C.E. Overbaugh & Co. New York”, also engraved in each side of the locks. Serial #3734. Barrels stamped LE and probably made by Lindner. Charles E.Overbaugh was a well known in shooting circles and was a Sharps exhibition shooter and the firm’s “chief traveling salesman”, and president of the New York Schutzen club. The gun shows 30” fine Damascus patternbarrels with beautiful hand-filed raised rib and is finely engraved with banknote scrolls and panel game scenes of the highest quality. Stock measures 14-5/8” to the end of the wood, 14-7/8” to the end of the originalbuttplate. The gun is nicely stocked in select grain walnut with rounded pistol grip, horn forend cap on splinter forend and fancy checkered horn buttplate. The gun shows double triggers, non-selective automaticejectors, cocking indicators, and quality workmanship throughout. The barrel shows 90% original brown with near all of its pattern, just some slight loss at the breech and muzzle. The frame shows 50-70% case hardening"

Wouldn't you like to see Fritz Heimbeck's name or initials in the edge of the oval?

Wonder what that screw is between the cocking indicators?

Anyone know who picked it up?

Kind Regards,

Bill McPhail had a gorgeous Golcher for sale here a couple -three months ago. It crossed paths with another gun I was in the process of purchasing at the time. I would have snapped it up. Dr Bill has been my prime educator on obscure American shotguns and a whole new world opened up for me.

This thread is another course. Many Thanks, gents.
