So? Does it have the plunger? I'd keep it either way.

How many configurations did the Western Arms guns come in? Mine is as plain Jane as one can be without ejectors, checkering, or the Anson forend release.

I've looked thru all the Ithaca paper I have from 1934 to 1946 and the Western Arms Long Range Double is always shown with uncheckered wood. Options of automatic ejectors (that got you the old Flues-style push-button forearm release), recoil pad, twin ivory sights, and a single trigger were offered throughout that time. It is also shown uncheckered in the 1932 Stoegers catalogue. In Walter's book he shows a 1931 and a 1933 Western Arms Corp. Dealers Price Lists and again the gun is shown without checkering. The 1931 price list includes a DeLux Long Range Ejector that includes a Hawkins recoil pad and the Lyman twin Ivory Sights. I can't find anything in my paper that shows a Long Range Double from 1929 or 1930 to see if they had some checkering in the first year or two. Or, maybe that was special for Montgomery Wards.

Is it possible that this gun has 3" chambers? A loaded and a fired 3" just drop in, and a scale inserted to the ridge indicates mebbe so...Thanks for the ledger sheet, Walter....
