For a good dealer to stay in business he must have many more happy folks than sad.Its true went selling its Patina and when buying its Rust.On Elsies I expect cracks if not on the outside at least on the inside working their way out but if I paid for none I would expect none.Little cracks are an easy fix but the metal problems suck

Jason, was the L.C. Smith a 16 bore and did it come from a dealer located in the great state of MS?

I am very familiar with this dealer. I live near his shop, and see him at shows a lot. I have even bought/traded a few guns with him and can say I was treated fairly. The OP's account was so well written and free of invective, I'm inclined to believe it's true. In the interest of fairness, I would like to hear the other side, but short of confronting the dealer myself about an issue that is really none of my business, I suppose I'll never get the chance.
He does advertise quite a bit in certain upscale shotgun mags.

While I know nothing about this deal, or dealer, I have spoken with and shot with Jason.
1. He is a straightforward fellow, and I trust whatever he says.
2. He is a serious L. C. Smith collector and owns several very fine graded pieces. Jason knows ELSIES!
3. Earlier this summer, Jason organized a local SxS shoot that was quite pleasant.

No disrespect, but we are only getting one side of the story and that makes me nervous. If a deal went south and someone had an axe to grind, he could a lot of damage in this manner. Jason, I am NOT saying that is the case here though.

I don't think anyone has to buy guns off of the internet, Joe. And I wouldn't buy a uggie. If I had to buy guns over the internet in order to get them, I wouldn't have guns. Not being able to buy guns AND getting screwed by shipping/ handling/lost/crooked sellers, etc. would be too much for me. Besides, there isn't anywhere in the US where you can't just get in the car and drive to a gun show. Or haven't we heard enough of these horror stories?
