Tinker,
I shot some on the 28th of June they are superb, black paper case high brass, a very good performing and a good looking product to boot.
I will contact Sue next week and see what the situation is regarding availability and price.

Tink,
I counted about 25 or thereabouts that have said they'd buy at least 1k, some said 2k. I'd probably go with 2k, up from my orig committment of 1k. That says you're already at about 30k. Piece o' cake from here.

Salopian-

I think it would be good for all of us here for you to take a peek into the possibilities in the UK.
The more choices the better.

For what I'm working on, I don't think higher brass is necessarily a good thing.
I'm looking at paper for three reasons, and note I'm running black powder in my 16b rifles.
-hull thickness
-no plastic fouling at throat of my rifles
-excellent gas seal at chamber walls

I have a sense that low brass hulls will withstand as much pressure as my rifles will handle without a problem, while offering a longer cylinder of paper. I'm assuming that a longer cylinder of paper will offer a better possibility of making a better gas seal.
Do also note that my cases get trimmed to about 1-5/8" for the rifles. Not much there but powder, a compact wad and seal card, and roundball.
These are short chambered guns, and I want to get as much paper in the mix as possible.

Chuck-

It does look like we're getting there pretty quickly doesn't it!
I've been looking at this come together and really, any way we slice it, we're looking at an eight to ten month lead time.
I think I can afford to save up a few extra nickels and take two or three thousand hulls for myself.
This collective gesture might also give the hull manufacturers and distributers something to think about on the topic of paper hulls. We might actually end up seeing more of them on the shelves some time in the future.

I have quite a few paper varieties in 12 bore and cannot remember ever seeing a low brass paper hull, all were higher in my limited experience.

Kevin-

I have paper hulls in a wide array of brass heights, from very short to quite high.
I think Mike Graf said that the brass will be in the neighborhood of 8mm long.
When I hear from him next week I'll ask him for some details on what kind of brass height options there are, but as I recall he said in the first conversation, with paper it's relatively low.

If these become available, I'd start reloading the 16 for all my hunting needs.

I'm in for 1,000 also.

Good luck

So... is anyone going to make this happen? Order / payment time?

Loading data? I have a little data on 16 gauge papers gleaned from old manuals, etc. I also have fiber wads, Kwik-sert shot wraps, R-16 wads, etc. all in 16 gauge. Would be happy to develop a 1oz. load, if I could get Chuck to pressure test it.

Ideas?
