I have a double barrel with the name "DeBrauwer A Gand" on it. The markings on barrel under forearm says it's Belgium. Can anyone give me any info on this gun?

Thanks

Duck

OKAY Folks, I have some more info for you. There is nice engraving on all metal, forearm metal, all screws, trigger guard, safety, etc.. Visible on the bottom of the gun is "DeBrauwer A Gand" After breaking down, on bottom of barrels where it attaches to the butt there is a "star, a line, a symbol that looks like an amplitheater, 12C in a diamond, and the Belgium mark E over LG over a star in a crown. On each barrel, there is "18.3 (size?) and a star, letter M and a fancy scripted L. Also on the left barrel there is the word "choke"
Hopefully someone out there can enlighten me on dating and how much this gun is worth.

Thanks, Duck

In Drew's absence, I'll make a stab at it. 18.3mm is for 12 bore. The intertwined "ML" is actually an intertwinded "EL" which stands for Epreuve de Liege(Proof of Liege). Without a pic, I guess the best way is too look at one of Drew's pics and tell what you don't have, say from here: http://www.picturetrail.com/sfx/album/view/17575181/274138276?&offset=335 . Under the left tube is the weight of the barrels in Kg followed by the Greek letter Epsilon which is the date code/stamp(began in 1922?) for 1956. Below it is the "*" over "G" for the controller's mark. And below that is a Belgian or Bohemian Lion over the foreign semi-smokeless powder type(Poudre Vive?). And your gauge is in a rhombus/diamond which I believe would put it in the October 4th, 1898 to June 23rd 1924 date range. I don't recognize the name.

Kind Regards,

Raimey

I posted this on the other board.

All the Belgian proof marks and maker's trade marks:
http://www.damascus-barrels.com/bp.html

The gun was most likely proofed 1923-1924. You really need to post pictures of the proof marks and any possible maker's marks.

Pete
