Amen to that Dave. Only time will tell how this will all play out. But I sure am glad they got this part right!

How long till Pelosi and friends are talking about "Blood in the streets, and shootouts on every corner - like the OK corral" on CNN? Might have to turn on the news to see how this gets spun. We (on the Right) haven't had too many victories to cheer about lately. Savor the moment, cause ole' Dave's right - it could all change in a heartbeat if Barack Hussein gets in.

I heard a DC prosecutor interviewed on public radio today, claiming that "this decision will result in more gun crime in the District." Like most gun-grabbers, she presumes that the current law is reducing gun crime - a presumption that has absolutely no basis in fact.

If you really want to hear some laughable comments, find a video of Chicago Mayor Richard "Boss" Daley commenting on the potential impact of the ruling.

The liberals have been singing the same old doom and gloom song of more "gun violence" every time there is a pro-gun victory, especially when a state allows CCW. Their dire predictions never come to pass of course, but that's no surprise to any of us.

This fight will never be over. The hardcore anti-gun zealots will simply look for defacto ways to ban guns.

here is one from one of the lead socialists,that dope Nancy P;

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) says that despite the Supreme Court decision to strike down its gun ban, the District of Columbia will still be able to regulate firearms.

"I think it still allows the District of Columbia to come forward with a law that’s less pervasive," Pelosi said at her weekly briefing Thursday. "I think the court left a lot of room to run in terms of concealed weapons and guns near schools."

Just wait till the Dumbocrats have Barack and his fellow communists in power.WAKE UP or we are screwed

Wisconsin, a few years ago, passed an amendment to the State Constitution giving residents "the right to keep and bear arms'.-Dick [/quote]

For what it is worth. the Democratik Republik of Kalifornia has had that statement in in the State Constitution since its beginning. You can see what good it has done us. When the chicken littles start running and screaming the politicals seem to listen. California in the 1970s was a free and open state, more people from other places came here and changed the political climate.

The world is a day by day thing - today a battle has been won - better get ready for the next.
A check to the NRA now, would be a good start to stave-off a possible future world of the Obama ages.

Gosh, we emerge victorious and many sound defeated. The NRA has the right idea with Illinois - even if they waited 15 minutes longer than I would have. Good for them.

Oftentimes the best defense is a good offense. Some things to start thinking about: howz about requiring the gov't to purchase and provide firearms to those who cannot afford them (as they do with the abortion "right").

How about 42 USC 1983 - the deprivation of a right being actionable for actual and punitive damages. If a governmental official takes your gun, why not sue not only to get it back but also for punitive damages?

Superficially, the NFA community gained least with Heller. Even so, they're already working on the "right" case to get 922(o) killed.

Don't be such pessimists. We've become too accustomed to defensive posturing. A door has been opened - we now have a right. Decades of disingenuous arguments from Brady (and that ilk) about the prefatory clause came to an abrupt end today.

And no, it does not matter whether it was 5-4 or 9-0. And no, they will not be able to say that the right only applies to DC. They will try - as would you, in their shoes. They will almost certainly lose. It may take some time to get through the 14th, but a massive hurdle was overcome today.

If you must torture yourselves with awfulizations, consider the probable effect of appointments from Gore or Kerry presidencies on today's result.

Minority opinion shows how law school and socialist ideology can alter ones comprehension of even the simplest written statement.

I have been waiting 40 years for this decision.

However, 5/4 shows how tenuous freedom can be. If nothing else, this shows how important electing McCain is for us this year.

Heller plans on more lawsuits. That is good because the mayor of DC says the right to own a handgun does NOT exist for semi-auto handguns. The bar has been set again.

As disappointed as I have been with George Bush on so many levels, I cringe when I imagine the outcome of this case if Al Gore or John Kerry had been given the chance to appoint a Supreme Court justice or two. John McCain hasn't exactly been an A+ gun rights candidate, but compared to Obama who is left of Lenin, we don't have much choice. We all need to dig in, join the NRA or make a donation, teach a kid to shoot, and hope the next Supreme Court case on the Second Amendment takes another 60 or 70 years.

A true sign of mental illness is any gun owner who would vote for an Anti-Gunner like Joe Biden.
