Can't help but post this. A SW "Pin Gun" which has been torched and reblued selling for what? Two grand? Hope the new owners kids can make a great profit on this "investment." Regards to all, RCC

I don't think they have been torched either, but the bottom LC sure looks hidious. I believe I would have done that over again. But, just one of the reasons I don't care for case coloring.

They arn't torched. However, i think Dewey needs to experiment more on his process. They just didn't come out right. This Lefever did come out better AND I LIKE IT!

Isn't what you get based on contact of the "pack" material with the action bar/sideplates? If so, variability can't be entirely owing to intention and perfect technique, can it? I haven't seen that negative imprint of a "bunch of grapes" before. Pretty neat in my opinion. The same light tan "fisheyes" are on the Fox pin gun also. What would cause that? Pack breaking away from the surface before it hits the quench? I don't think Dewey is going to go in for torching and none of the examples look like the spread of temper colors.
