Wow, nice work on the 21 frame. You don't see many of those. The beading, top treatment and side panel filing is really nice.

Ken, I've been away for a couple of days. Thanks for wanting to look at my practice plates. I'll definitely take your advice about mimicking the action shape and keep you posted. I took a look at the 12 sterly today that I mentioned, and it is in near mint condition except for the short stock, which could easily be extended. And for $500 even. I'd almost hate to mess with it, it is that nice. Notice I said almost.

Marklart,
Buy the Stirly. But don't be in too big a hurry to mess with the metal if it is as nice as you say. Maybe that one should be left alone. Stirlys are easy to find that may be more deserving of a new life. Just a thought. Jake

A friend has some minty Husqvarna 12 Ga hammer guns with no engraving for $300 each if that might interest you. They are fluid steel 1930's or so guns.

I have looked closely at my high condition Model 51 Husky as a "blank slate". Pete may have a good idea. Not a bad gun at all. I just can't figure out why my gun, looking so lightly used, has an unacceptable sear contact on the left lock. Did someone mess with it (why?) or could it have come from the factory that way?
