Here's the body of an e-mail received this morning regarding my RBL-28. My order was: PIF 11/07/2007

Size: 4 KB
Dear Mr. Mxxxxx,

We are currently making the 28's and starting to assemble them. We still have more 20's to get out. Once all the 20's are out there should be an instanc flow of 28's. There is a good chance you will get it in March.

Thank you,

xxxx xxxxxxx

I understand their production manager used to work for Alfa Romeo. "It'll take 6 months, and you gotta leava the car." Six months later - "The part's shesa be in in 2 weeks." Ad nauseum....

Yup, that's funny!

Well, you know, patience is a virtue. The wait for the RBL should enhance the value of the shotgun. At least in your mind. Picture.....craftsmen slaving over cold steel & wonderfully figured wood......warm feeling. It's kinda like that.....except a few more computerized machines involved. But, those machines do great work. So, soon your hands will be wrapped around a beautiful creation......and made in the good old USA. The wait is definitely worth it for me.

FWIW... Galazan had the RBL 28's at the Louisville show. They had price tags, in different configurations, but not for sale. Less than a dozen, better than the 20, but more money. Depending on the case-coloring...some of the guns seemed to stand out, checkering the same.
No doubt... a solid investment.......maybe....likely?
I did like the gun, others agreed.

Gun decisions are tough. I have been pondering buying another 28 bore, love em! Trying to choose between:
Gun A: 28 bore,traditional rib,bone case finish,splinter forend, 14 3/4x 2 3/8, 5 lbs 7 ozs, hard rubber pad, machine checkered and engraved. 1 year wait
Gun B: Exact same specs as gun A, but hand checkered and engraved, immediate delivery.
Problem is, one costs more tham 5 times the other.......
