Anyone know the source where one can order "CCL" stock finishing oil? I have been told that it is a fine finishing oil from England. Thanks,

I haven't tried this product myself, but it can be found here.

Let us know how it comes out.

It can be obtained Stateside, normally a full page advert in Double Gun Journal, made by Clive Lemon in Redditch, Worcestershire, England, UK.
You can make your own, very easily.

Best be careful with English things. You know:
magazine rifle=insanely expensive Mauser actioned bolt gun finished in England
turnscrews=expensive screwdrivers with insanely thin blades and handles which require as much care as their shotguns
pins=short metal rods cheaper to use than true screws.
................
CCL Gunstock Finish & Laquer Remover=varnish remover available at Lowe's, Home Depot,....
CCL Gunstock Stain=Minwax? wood stains available in small cans at places listed above (it's also made in gel like formulation which is less PIA to apply.
PS. 'Vertical Gun'=very expesive English made O/U second in quality only to Ivo Fabbri.

Jagermeister,
Perhaps we have become expensive, extravagant and all the other things that you imply by following the example set by our Royalty? after all do not our best gunmakers aspire and advertise they are suppliers to our Royalty? Does not our Royalty demand these standards? What his our Royal families heritage? German I believe.Oops

Hmm. Wonder if "Phoenix" barrels would have made it through Birmingham or London proofhouses...The sensation of feeling in my fingertips is one I do enjoy.
Best,
Ted
