I had remembered the gun but mis-thought it as a 20 gauge.

The gun, as you may now recall, is a 410. I bought the gun in basically the configuration it is in. It had some serious mechanical problems that I addressed before shooting it. Since then it has been used for many rounds of skeet and last year took on regular duty as a quail gun. This year it did 2 trips of dove hunting along the Colorado River. I imagine the wood is heavier than the original stock. It is 5 lbs 15 oz

I would think that if you were to miss, the dove should just die and fall out of respect for this beautiful shooter.
