Dead hanging art at it's best. I wonder how many the guy with the single bolt, between the front tires, added to the bag?

Kind Regards,

Check the cover behind the truck, early years after the big burn, all the habitat was at eye level. Just like shooting a rooster getting up in a stubble field. Great photo, thanks for sharing. Randy

Good question Raimey:
I once lived the happiest years of my life on John's Island , S.C.
I was a member of a hunt club a few miles south towards Savannah.
One of the members, Jimmy Barret shot a single barrel something. As he often drank water from a ditch to wash down his slug from a vodka bottle, it may have been any no-name shooter.LOL
At the time, I was without shooting soul and shot a Rem. 1100.
Point of this is that Jimmy always had one in the chamber and two in his mouth. Many is the time that he was so much faster at shooting all three than my high class semi was able that no one even mentioned it.
That man could shoot more shells with that single bore than most men could even fathom.
He did not often miss either.
God willing that he and his understanding bride, Lois, still love the woods and marshes.
Best,
John

Mr. Mann:

You've made me chuckle. You wouldn't happen to have a pic of Jimmy with the shotshells in his mouth other than in your head, would you?

What is the make of the one near the door handle with the thick wrist/hand?

Kind Regards,

Raimey

My friend:
The very best pictures are the ones in memory, as I know you also know.
I will someday tell of his presentation of alligator tail at our fish fry and my wife's reaction to my reaction.LOL
It is often difficult to determine the reaction to memories by those were not intimate with the characters. Where do we share those stories that brings smiles or laughter when recounting moments of comraderie and a special bond?
I think it is here. With those I trust and know will understand where my heart is.
Best,
John

Truck?? That is a rare and valuable '31 Victoria with slightly out of focus flying goose radiator cap if my eyes and memory serve me correctly. If the guns are in time with the vehicle, that bolt gun has to be a Mauser conversion rather than an American bolt shotgun. I'm not at all sure of that, but will look at my 1940 Mossburg catalog for information. I'm just overwhelmed by the Springers. What classic pups, just like the two setter sized wonders that we lost in the last few years. Ours were mother and son, companions of nearly twenty years, raised and hunted by The Lovely Linda and her late husband.

I hunt over springers and love this photo. I'm going to frame it for my crammed-with-prints-and-photos gun & game room.

Thank you Dennis!

Funny what catches your eye in order: (1) grouse, (2) springers, (3) car, (4) shotgun, (5) cover.
