Looks like I won't be shooting my RBL this dove season. Ordered mid December 2005, "in the shop" July 6th 2007, still no word.
I hope it's going to be worth the wait....

In an earlier conversation with the harbinger of joy / or dispatcher of dissappointment ( depending on her news) - Carol commented that Dec 2005 had more orders placed than any other month - They are , like the newspaper caption of the Indian Nations Chief's meeting in Wash DC as noted in " The Outlaw Josie Wales" :
Vowing to Continue to Persevere

-keep the faith...

I ordered end of December and was told yesterday it was in the shop and may get it in 4-5 weeks. My question to them was will I or won't I get it by the first week of October.

I have other guns to shoot but not getting it on time would be an excuse to add another I have my eye on. I was sort of looking for an up or down answer and got a 'maybe'.

I was told the last time I called in mid-July that mine would be "in the shop this week". The lady I spoke with said that she doubted it would be in my hands by 1 September and I believe her and I seriously doubt that I will see it before the dove opener on 1 Sept. The order date on my confirmation has 5 Jan 06 on it. I have about gotten to where I don't really care anymore whether it comes before the season or not. I ordered the gun as a gift to myself for retiring after almost 28 years with the Air Force. This was a 'milestone' that I really wanted to commemorate. That unrealistic expectation passed by. Then it was....well, maybe a Christmas present?? Nope. Not that year. OK, how about a birthday..... No, not for the 59th anyway. So, here we are and I just am not excited anymore. Perhaps I have just lost interest in the thing. So many have reported dissatisfaction (albeit very quick response to "make it right"...and one guy even got WAY more than....well, enough on that.) - I hope it (my interest, that is) revives when it does arrive! If it doesn't it will just be sent back unfired. I really do hope my eyes light up when I open the case.

VV, any excuse is a good one to get another!!!

Something good should result from all the RBL aggravation. :-)

Thanks for all the kind words. I'm taking my 20ga Belgian Browning o/u, and my CE Lefever 12 and heading for Yuma on Thursday, scout on Friday.

Hopefully, there will be some birds. It's not the same as it used to be there, when grain crops and citrus prevailed, but its still fun.
Good shooting to all and be safe.

My RBL was a mid-December order and it arrived about three or so weeks ago. So, I'm a little surprised yours hasn't also been delivered. I'm very pleased with mine.

Mine arrived two weeks ago. Exhibition wood was everything promised (very rich, dark black walnut). I ordered double triggers, Eng stock, splinter, and case colors. Gun handles beautifully and overall "look" is very refined. Only criticisms are the CC is very dark, and the forend design overhanging the rear iron is a chip waiting to happen. That said, I am well satisfied and look forward to trying her out on the 1st. Have patience, I think you will find it worth the wait.
