I recently bought an Ithaca "Knick" SBT and I can't figure out the date code from the serial number from either Walt's book or the Ithaca website. It's a grade four with early style engraving, and the serial number is 2900XX-T. That would fit for a 1918 Flues gun, but I believe my gun is a Knick. Any help would be appreciated...Geo

Well, I guess it must be a Flues. I didn't know that the "flying Eagle" motif on the right side engraving of the early Knick was a carry-over from the Flues model. Thanks Brother Drew! ...Geo

Ever notice how the simple answer is usually the right one?

You might check around the push-button FE release escutcheon for cracks in the wood, and consider reinforcing the wood with some ultra-thin cyanoacrylate
I had a 4E and Victory Grade Flues SBTs both with cracks.

You and your family have a blessed Resurrection Day.
