Marvelous, Stan. Thanks for taking the time to photograph his work and share it with us.
There is incredible wildlife art out there across our great land. I always made a point of stopping at Tamarack in WV when I was through there. And there was a gallery in the little town of Saratoga, WY that had beautiful work. Plus, of course, museums in the west like Charlie Russell’s in Great Falls and the National Museum of Wildlife Art in Jackson. And on and on.

A few items on the mantle. A carved gamble’s quail, a bronze bobwhite quail, a small bronze pheasant, and a setter cross stitch. Ken

The three shorebird decoys are gunning decoys made before the ban against hunting them. The larger two are from NJ and are whimbrels known back in the day as curlews. The smaller decoy is a golden plover from MA. The two decoys on my dresser are a black bellied plover and my favorite, a whimsical dowitcher which was part of the T. Rogers rig and branded on the bottom as such. Rogers was a wealthy NYC banker who shot shorebirds in Jamaica bay in the late 1800s. The top and bottom prints are by Chet Reneson. The snowy blowy depicts decoying broadbills during a snow storm. The fishing print depicts flyrodding for bonefish in the Bahamas. The middle painting is an original by Ray Ellis.

Bless his heart, the artist painted 22" barrels on the Model 21. JR How did you arrive at that conclusion John?
