I am searching for a UK patent 372,035 of 1931, but cannot figure out how to do it. The patent is a gun related patent by Edwin Smith. Can anyone direct me to a website that works ?

Go to https://patents.google.com and input the number 372035. It will give some options. Pick GB372035 and the patent " Improvements relating to drop-down breech loading small arms" by SMITH, E. will come up

Borderbill, thank you. I got as far as finding the Abstract text, but could not find any drawings. What trick might I have missed ?

That's as far as I got. I didn't take the time to wander about the GB#'s sites. I'm sure they're there you probably have to let your fingers do the walking through the internet sites.

Daryl, I've tracked down more on your patent search. Go to: https://worldwide.espacenet.com Enter GB372035 into Search Terms. Edwin Smiths Pantent is available here including original document and drawings.

It is shown in Volume 3 Crudgington and Baker, and as the “Rosson action” in Burrard Vol. 1.

Borderbill, that worked for me. Thank you so much for your help. To print the original document, I had to copy each page, send it to myself in email and print. I am sure there was an easier way, but it worked.

parabola, thank you, too, for the Burrard information. My copy of Burrard must be sort of abridged as it did not show the full information your pictures did. My copy of Volume 3, Crudgington and Baker, has been "missing" for a couple of years. So, yesterday, I sent for a replacement.

Thank you both again. The printed copies of all the info. will go into the hard copy file for the E. Smith and Sons gun.
