OP shrapnel Sidelock Joined: Feb 2018 Posts: 117 Likes: 202 Bozeman, MT	I like the older shotguns, especially the damascus hammer guns. Although this isn't a hammer gun, It is a real nice gun. They only made around 8500 Colt model 1883 shotguns. This gun has some nice original finish still evident on it, with good damascus pattern and even the original ivory beads on the barrel. I am hoping to get it out tomorrow and shoot some 5 stand with it. I also have a Colt 1878 hammergun, which I have killed quite a few birds with, this fall I hope to add to that with this 1883... Montana seems to me to be what a small boy would think Texas is, listening to Texans..John Steinbeck
