I acquired a WC Scott S-L crystal indicator, non ejector 12 gauge in an auction but it is missing the forearm. I've checked with some US sources but have not had any luck finding a replacement. Would anyone have a name for a possible source for a replacement?

The wood? The metal? The complete forend???

What type of crystal indicator action is it? AKA, What’s the year of manufacture?

serial number 41615 puts the year of manufacture as 1887. The gun is in excellent condition with no indication that anyone buggered anything inside but it's missing the entire forend. Ideally a complete forend would be great but the metal would be the more important and most difficult to fabricate. I'll try and post picture later this week if that would be more helpful.

The gun was sold as is with the forearm missing. It didn't just get lost. Nice gun and would be worth a lot more if it could be restored but that's part of the fun. Probably need to find some English gunsmiths that might be more likely to have access to an old parts gun or something sitting in a bin waiting to be rediscovered.

I have a Scott on my bench right now, that I refinished the bbls and made a hammer for. I can take some dimensions of the iron parts just in case you need to have them made

This is a wild and almost certainly ridiculous Hail Mary suggestion, but: A British outfit (like Holts Auctioneers, for example) may have a complete, clapped-out, off-face and rattly specimen on offer for a couple of hundred pounds. They also may have a junk drawer of sorts. If I were really interested in getting the thing usable again, and considering the cost of replicating a complete forend from whole cloth, I'd make a few enquires to some of the more voluminous British sellers, asking them if they'd let me pay for the shotgun but only ship me the forend or its iron. That'd possibly save you the bizzare and expensive ritual of importing the entire shotgun.
