I have been offered these shotguns. Seller says he was told they are with $2000 each. Willing to sell at $1700 each, but I think this is still over priced.
Guns have been shot very little and seller states like new. I will look at them next week. The 28 is on the 20 gauge frame.
I welcome thoughts from knowledgable member here on the forum. I will not have additional pictures until next week.only pictures with information for now. 410 is not for sale.
I will then know more about the actual condition.
I understand these guns belonged to the sellers uncle and have been sitting for 50 years.
From what I have read on line, getting replacement parts can be an issue.

The only Charles Daly I have ever owned was bought at a K Mart. At least that one was not in the $1700 bracket.

I have seen this diamond grade model https://www.gunbroker.com/item/969484520 sell for 2500.00 before but have seen different models called diamond grade, receivers were sculpted different. Also small frame 28ga have brought 2k before. Hope this helps. I only buy what I’m willing to keep or at least think I am. I wouldn’t call those prices a no brainer and your going to make money but sounds good for a gun you desire if they are mint.

Save your money! These are nice Miroku guns, but the only one worth $1700 is the 28 gauge skeet gun. And that’s about retail. The 26 inch 12 ga skeet is a tough sell. $1000 tops. The 20 gauge skeet about $1200 and the single barrel trap is an early variation of the later BT-99—maybe $1000. The 410, which you say is not for sale, is valued like the 28 ga. These were nice quality guns, but are shooters, not collectors.

Rare does not mean golden in life. They are not un-fired, new in the box and can not be priced as such. Plus there is just no great collector interest in them like there would be with a Winchester, Parker or even Browning. Being 26" barrels is a truly tough sell these days. If they do not speak to you, then I would just tell the owner they are lovely and politely not buy them. Funny thing is if they were 28" barrels there would be a lot more interest in them, but when they were bought 26" was easier to sell than those longer barrels like 28 or 30". 30" doubles were hard to sell then and command a premium now. Times change and what is in style comes and goes.

Thanks Guys. I completely agree. I just wanted to get some other opinions. My only real interest would be the 20 gauge but at the right price.
Its always difficult to be the one to tell them the truth on value once a shop gives them a “ Insurance replacement cost”. Then they see some similar guns on line auction sites where the sellers are just sucker fishing. It is easier to tell them as suggested. I am not interested.
