I've got a line on a Branquaert Model No.5 12 gauge hammer shotgun with 30" chopper lump steel barrels, sideclips, POW grip, DT, and knockout full coverage small rose and scroll engraving. There is a Brancquaert on GI right now for around 10K that is very similar, but I can't really find out much about this make, except apparently they were made for Brancquaert by Defourney. Maybe some of our European friends can enlighten me about this model. I'm curious what it may have sold for new and relative value today. Judging by the proofmarks, it was made before 1920. Thanks, Sandlapper

Bob Nay of McNab Fine Guns is a great fellow to deal with.

That's a known mark either associated with John Henry Andrews Toledo Steel or Lebeau Courally, maybe both. I will search a bit..... Sort of hand in hand with Acier Leugrann & Metal Vant Horn - Webley - Lebeau - Courally 17 Rue Fond des Tawes, Liège??

You may be correct to associate it with Cap/Falla.

Argo, Yes, thanks, I have read this thread and all I could bring up on Google regarding Brancquaert guns. The gun I'm buying came out of the woodwork here in the US. I'll try to find put where the seller came by it, and I think he has had it for quite some time.I forgot to mention earlier that it also had the Purdey style hidden third fastener. The barrel lumps are even shaped like Purdey lumps.

I particularly fancy the above lifted image of chicken-scratching with one such Falla trademark being a Dunghill Fowl. Serbus, Raimey rse

I handled a Brancquaert similar to this last year at the Southern SxS. Fellow had a number of pigeon guns for sale both hammer and hammerless. That gun did not have the engraving coverage as the one Bob Ney has for sale and the price tag was just north of $13k. I’ve been told Mr Brancquaert was a competitive pigeon shooter who had his guns made by several Belgium makers. He had them made for his own use and also sold a few to his friends and fellow pigeon shooters.

I bet instead of a true Purdey Nose the 3rd of 4th fastner is the „Fermeture Liègeoise“ - >>Galand Nose<< .
