I have a rather rare Merkel model 147 EL Sporting in 20 gauge which has 30 inch barrels with 3 inch chambers and skeet (.003) and improved cylinder (.006) fixed chokes. *This gun is class in every regard from the beautiful wood, to the engraving signed by Merkel master engraver Bettina Lenk(BL), to the beautiful leather covered pad. *The gun features side clips, engraved barrel wedges, lovely game scene engraving, bushed firing pins, Greener cross bolt lockup, cocking indicators, and wood that catches your attention the minute you take it out of the case. *I've owned many Merkels over the years but this is the first side by side Sporting model in 20 gauge with the very desireable 30 inch barrels. Stock dimensions are 1 1/2 X 2 7/16 X 14 1/2 over the nicest leather covered pad I've ever owned. Weight of the gun is 6 pounds 5 ounces. Stock cast is neutral. *This gun was built in November of 2004 and you would think by looking at it that it was built yesterday. *The gun is just about flawless with only a couple of small impressions. *No dings, dents, or cracks. *Gun comes with a very nice luggage case with oil bottle and snap caps, also has the original and correct shipping box. *As I said, nothing but class for this gun. *Look at the pictures and I think you'll agree this gun is special. *Price is $6500 plus $75 shipping to your FFL.
