mc, I don't know for certain if King was a Communist. He frequently admitted to being a Socialist. He also openly admired much of Communist dogma and Lenin's philosophy. If it walks, quacks, and flies like a duck, I suppose there is a good chance it's a duck.

I will say that I did admire the fact that King openly admitted his politics and his disdain for our 2nd Amendment and our NRA. That is in stark contrast to some little men/girls who try to hide their affinity for anti-gun Democrats by calling themselves "Independent Moderates" or just barely revealing their attitudes by their negative attitudes toward pro-gunners and Conservatives. King always preached about civility, yet never had any problem referring to Conservatives and Republicans as selfish, greedy, bigoted, racists, misogynists, haters, and more. That's why I often reminded him that dishonesty is not civility.

I saw that silly article written by Harry Bruce when Geo first posted it here a couple years ago. The article was sent to Geo by King himself, and I'm sure King was very proud of it. I can imagine he sent it to lots of people, and probably had it memorized. It was written by a friend of King, so it's probably safe to say there was plenty of personal bias involved. I saw it as being not much different than the Screen Actor's Academy giving Oscars and fawning praise to creeps, pedophiles and child molesters like Harvey Weinstein or Roman Polanski.... nothing but meaningless fluff, written by a guy who had a deadline and needed an article to sell to a magazine.

Geo refused to tell me why he sat on it for a couple years before he posted here as a totally off topic Thread dedicated to propping up this forum's most dedicated anti-2nd Amendment activist. Geo admitted that he knew it would cause a shit-storm, but he did it anyway. How does a guy who claims to dislike shit-storms here then intentionally ignite one, especially after claiming that the forum shit-storms chase members away??? Just another of the many scheming games played here over the years.

I also don't know why GLS didn't attribute the "QUOTE" he then posted concerning some of King's wild claims to me. Those were indeed my words, and I still have exactly the same opinions about most of the wild claims King made here concerning his imaginary relationships with the John, Ted and Robert Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr., Fidel Castro, etc.

I AM NOT impressed that GLS posted that old photo of King standing in a group of men behind John F. Kennedy. As I stated several years ago, when I really began to seriously doubt all of the crap that King told us, I searched high and low to try to find evidence of his claims. The amount of evidence and photographs supporting his claims was almost non-existent. And it was even less than several local 1960's journalists from my area, an even smaller News Market than the CBC was when King was a field reported for them. As I said, I found a good many old photos of small-time reporters from my area standing with, or in close proximity to the Kennedy's, MLK Jr., Dwight Eisenhower, Richard Nixon, etc. Yet none of those men ever imagined that they shared some bond or relationship with the famous people they covered or interviewed. Yet King did. You'd think he'd have more photographic evidence of those claims than he had of himself in a kilt or skirt, but he didn't. And he also imagined himself on par with Canadian 1960's News luminaries such as Morely Safer and Peter Jennings. Virtually everyone has heard of those famous journalists, but I'd venture to say that before you all came here to DoubleGunShop Forum, virtually none here ever heard of King.

The most telling statement in that article appeared on the first page. King's friend wrote, "...since excessive modesty is not one of his faults, some of his old friends in journalism regard the self-image he projects with affectionate cynicism."

So if his own friends and co-workers didn't believe his crap, why should we?

I had serious doubts about King's claims when I first joined here, and I sure didn't care for his politics, particularly when it came to Gun Rights. But I really began to confront him hard after he and Last Dollar made the totally false claim that I had made a death threat to another member here. They repeated that bold-faced lie for several days. And we all know that Dave Weber would have permanently banned me or anyone else who used his forum to make death threats. Too bad he didn't ban those who tell lies in order to attempt to get rid of those they dislike.

I saved many other examples of King telling big fat lies. One example was when he denied posting that he had illegally crossed the U.S. - Canada border several times with a handgun in his airplane. King called me a liar for reminding him of his firearms violation, and I fed him some line for a couple days before setting the hook. I posted an unedited QUOTE from him saying that he crossed the border with a handgun several times. So how did he react? He continued to call me the liar, and changed his story, claiming the gun he had in his plane was a survival rifle... in direct contradiction to his own words.

I could easily go on and on with many other examples. I just think it is sad to see someone who worked so hard to undermine our Gun Rights and our Constitution being eulogized on a firearms forum.

A true sign of mental illness is any gun owner who would vote for an Anti-Gunner like Joe Biden.

It was always a pleasure to read King's posts here. That he was routinely assaulted by the site's bulldog is regrettable. According the ethos here, there is only one way to think, and all truth proceeds from a hard right perspective. So be it. His detractors here aren't worthy to shine his shoes.
