A passing comment by Richard a couple of years ago in a related thread started me down an unimaginable but ultimately satisfying path.

(I guess I’ll need to take some photos and tell the story.)

(Update: Richard Brewster and a “New” Nitro, Oct.’22)

Very sad to know we've lost another valued contributor here. I did not remember his contributions here. But, I do now recall his name. Thanks to all for gently reminding me.

My condolences to his family and friends.

Possibly viewed as horning in, but I for one wouldn't mind filling that slot, but not his shoes, for an adventure in the future, if someone would borrow me a smokepole?

I bought my Lefever EE from Rich. I very much enjoyed getting to know him if only for a little while.

Geo, No, he signed his real name RichardBrewster. No need for a cartoon name for him.

Richard was a class act. I met him through the LACA in my late 20s. I spoke with and/or listened to him at a few Southern SxS events and 1 or two NE SxS. I thought he was the CA or DA in Manhattan at the time, but I’m not sure specifically. In any case he was very down to earth and quite approachable. We exchanged a few guns over the years, I even sent him back a Lefever I bought from him, a few years later, because it matched a wanted description he posted. I was saddened to hear the news and feel the double gun or bird hunting fraternity lost a good guy. I will chase down a copy of his book. I’m sure it will be worth the read.

Stanley thanks for being gentle when you trashed the man and accused him of Witch Craft.....

Ithaca Rick is Rick Beckner. He was doing fine last I heard, which has been awhile. Last activity on here was this past January.
