should the need arise, a 20 ga load of shot at less than 10 feet is devistating..

plus it is my understanding that wolves like most other animals are far more afraid of us than we of them...by the time we appear, they have smelled us and are long gone...

should you have the time, suggest you visit the international wolf center in ely, mn...a fasinating place...

Well...after 20-years of tromping around up there, I suppose that if there were going to be problems they'd have happened by now. But for peace of mind, a little something extra would certainly feel good. I do know that on the southern border a handgun is certainly recommended.

Yes indeed, cheer for the "underdog", but put your folding money on the "overdog" every time.. RWTF

Lloyd3 I am glad you enjoyed the Jane Austin, so I thought I would chance my arm in recommending three other food for the eyes bearing in mind that you do have a lot of good novelists on your side of the pond. The first two are by the same author though set indifferent times, "Far from the madding crowd" and the "Mayor of Casterbridge" both by Thomas Hardy. Yes at one time here in Britland you could sell your wife. A little less in the past "Cider with Rosie" by Laurie Lee" a gentle enjoyable read.

Damascus: Thank you for that! I'm always casting about for something entertaining in the evening anymore. Clearly, there would have been a time where such things would not have been my "cup of tea" but some gentrification seems to have mysteriously occured in the last decade or two here.
