I've been trying to remember the name of an importer of Ugartachea shotguns. The guns were in 16, 20 and 28 gauges with 26" barrels and specially choked. They came with a hard case an a flat of shells. He always talked about his guns being like magic wands. Do you remember who I'm talking about? Thanks, Jack K

Hugh, That is it! I could remember his ads but not his name. Yeah, Bill Hanus Bird Guns. I did not know he died, but then I haven't seen his ad in quite a few years. I'm in my 70's now and think I need a magic wand about now. At least I think it would help, certainly won't hurt my shooting.
Thank you, Jack K

Ugartechea's factory closed time ago. I only know there's a new owner from your country.

Aspen Outfitting used to sell a lot of Uggies, but not with a flat of shells included.

I do not believe the new owner is active
Sometime back I contacted someone about buying/ building some guns and the said they only have some parts to built 12 ga guns
That was several years ago, I think the company is toast

John, I know that all the factory have now an american owner, but don't know his name. I'll tell you if I know.
Jack, a friend of mine have a 16 ga Ugartechea 119, a great model. The problem is the export, I think.

Guys, Thanks to all who responded to my thread. By fate or luck, I was talking to a close buddy last night and he mentioned he had a little 20 ga for sale. He bought it years ago and never really shot it. Short story, I bought it for a good price. It is a Churchhill Royal by Kassnar. Turns out it was made by Ugartachea; 28" barrels, twin triggers, straight grip, splinter fore end, concave rib and checkered butt, must weigh 6 lbs and an ounce or two. I think it is choked imp cyl / full, when I pattern it that will tell me what may needs to be done. It's not mint but it has most of its finishes.
