If a deal is too good to be true it likely isn't real these days. If a dealer won't accept a credit card for a product, don't do it. I didn't get burned, but it would have been easy to get taken for a couple of hundred bucks that you'd never get back.

Addendum: If the ammo dealer want Zelle, bitcoin, or even Paypal as payment, just walk away.

I'll add that if established, reputable suppliers like Midway, Cabelas/Bass Pro, Grafs, BPI and others either don't have powder & primers or only have limited supplies at high prices, there is no chance that some brand new, never heard of before company is going to have powder or primers.

I have become addicted to English hammered shotguns to the detriment of my wallet.

A buddy had suggested Discount Ammo in Metairie, LA as he'd seen their adverts. I looked them up (after ordering all the powder and primers I wanted at pre-inflation prices) before paying and discovered their ratings on Google. I saw that they also went by "Tacticool" and it made me suspicious, that and them wanting paid by Zelle or Paypal.

When people get desperate they do dumb things. Paying through the nose is bad enough but to do so with a dealer you never have heard of before is a real problem. If I can not get them on the phone then to me they are not real. And only payment system which can be reversed if fraud occurs should be used. Paypal is not very good for that at all. I do not have enough to last me for four years until the tide hopefully turns but I do have enough to last two to three and am still buying small amounts as I use mine up. I have noticed wads becoming much harder to locate lately. Was told there is a plastics shortage issue. I rest so easy, knowing Joe and Pete B are working round the clock to fix the supply chain issues. If Depends and Huggies were in short supply those two might have an interest if getting something done. Otherwise it is monkey blind, dumb and deaf.
