Interesting gun. Sadly the 24 & 32 bore guns have been made obsolete by improved ammo. There is just too little difference from 20-24-24-32 bores. You can find a 20-28 bore load so much easier that will do the same or better than the 24-32 little brother. Always wanted to be rich enough to have Purdey build me a pair of 14 bore guns like the King of Spain favored. Rumor was he favored them because nobody else could borrow his shells if they ran low.

I second mc's thought. What a fun gun to handle and just look at. I especially like the somewhat unusual lump engraving.

Far be it for me to cast aspersions on any such fine craftsmanship.

I’m just lucky to be able to look at it.

For me, and I’m confident there is a reason for it, it looks a little heavy across the shoulders.

It sort of reminds me of the way that Browning makes 28 bores from 20s. They always look a little thick to me.

It’s very likely that I am a victim of marketing hype, that has bent my mind to think that every gauge should be scaled.

That particular shotgun was probably built before the marketers started promoting that.

I maintain absolute confidence that the manufacturer made it exactly as they wanted.

Point being that it’s my problem or bias, not theirs.

I have two 24 bores and find that Fiocchi make a nitro plastic case cartridge in both 24 and 32 bore. For my black powder proof 24 bore I use Magtech cases. Not too difficult to make these little guns speak again. Lagopus.....

I use these sleeves also. Unfortunately, there are no other options today.
