Trying to help a friend sell a 12 GA Cole Poli that he inherited. It was not firing the second shell so we took it to a local Gunsmith and he put in new pins ,but the problem persists. I spoke with Gunther Pfrommer and he thinks he may have parts for it and it could be repaired for About $400 unless he has to make parts. It may have been damaged by filing parts to crisp the trigger and over the years wear and tear took its toll.
What is the gun worth as it is?
And what would it be worth if fully repaired.?

I have one of these Sporting Clays Poli guns. Mine has the finest single trigger I have ever used on a double gun. For reference, I paid $3250 for mine years ago. I considered it half off the last msrp. The Euro spiked against the dollar as these guns were being made. When the economic reality settled, a decent Model 21 was cheaper. It killed the Poli Clays gun. To answer your question. Boxlock non-ejectors are dead in the retail market. The Sporting Clays guys only shoot SxS as a side event to kill time. The positive is it shoots any ammo you can get your hands on these days. Not to hurt any feelings, but allow $400-600 for a fix to get it up to a reasonably priced Clays gun. $2000 + or - $250. Expect less from a dealer.
PM if you need to.

But the rub is you have no idea what's wrong with it there are two stocks is that part of the problem ? Some Single triggers are fiddly with different wood.good luck with the sale.

I have a 16 ga Poli clays gun I bought through Cole’s. It’s the Upland Extra with a palm-swell clays stock, with 32 in barrels. It is by far my favorite shotgun. I use it for almost everything. It can, however, be temperamental, particularly with ammo. The right barrel will simply not fire Fiocchi shells. Why? Who knows. I just don’t use Fiocchi and everything is fine. Also, I have to be deliberate in fully releasing the single trigger after the first shot. Be sure to check ammo and trigger reset. As is, I would guess that gun would be worth around $1750-$2000. If functioning properly, around $3000-3500, depending on condition. As one other gentleman said, always plan for more repair cost than the gunsmith estimates.

My friend inherited it, does not shoot double guns AND is in Assisted living now. I am helping the family as I am a shotgunner. They will sell it as is for 600 plus shipping. Gunter Pfrommer can fix it for maximum guess of $600 or $400 if he has the parts otherwise he will make them. There is no hidden agenda at work…..Hate to see it sit in an closet
