I sold a Whitmores Patent shotgun and need to ship it but can't seem to figure out how to remove the barrels. I've removed the forend which is held on by a wedge and when I open the breech, the barrels swing up but do not release from the frame. I can see a linkage sort of thing that runs through the frame and moves along with the opening lever. There is also a small plunger sort of thing at the front of the frame on the part that the forend iron rides on. It does protrude a bit and may be spring loaded but it's position makes no difference. Anybody have any tips on how to remove the barrels? Thanks for any help!

Show some pictures. There were several Whitmore patents.

Trying to add some pictures but not so obvious how to do it. The pictures I have are on my hard drive so no URL for them as is asked for when I click on the picture icon. I do not use any of the photo hosting sites or the cloud.
