re krupp made barrels for icd...

bought one of the icd parts kits a few years ago...no indication as to who made barrels...always figured barrels were made in italy, as were the frames, as i understand it...

are krupp still a major supplier of shotgun barrels to the trade?

Ed,
The Parts Kits were all Italian. Those were parts that Steve Lamboy rejected for quality control issues. They were later sold by the Manufacturer to Dealers like CSMC and others. Some of the parts were assembled by the Manufacturer and sold as complete guns. These guns have a very bad reputation. They are easily identified by the ****** out printing on the botton of the receiver.

I own a proto-type 20 gauge with the serial number P36 on the trigger guard and P-00036 on the frame.

There is nothing especially unusual about the stock dimensions of mine.

I was told that there was an initial run of prototypes made (about 50 to 75) that were produced as part of a limited run and used as promotional items and gifts to give to business partners and friends of Tom Skeuse. This was supposedly all done while the factory was tooling up for volume production. What I was told was that there was a variety of different types of walnut used in the prototypes and in the end Tom decided to buy a large walnut supplier on the west coast to ensure a steady supply of high quality blanks for his endeavor. (Being a wealthy industrialist has it's perks).

There is probably a lot more to the story and maybe some of what I was told might be fictitious hearsay. Ironically, I live just over the Delaware river in Pennsylvania from Ringoes NJ, where the Skeuse's HQ was but found my Parker Repro new in the box in Maine while on a grouse/woodcock hunt a few years ago. The US headquarters of Krieghoff is just down the road from me in Ottsville as well. Krieghoff produced and imported the extra 16 gauge barrels there that were used in the combo sets.

"Is Krupp"? NOT "are Krupp"-- Ed, did you get past the the 6th grade in grammar school?== One member of our pheasant hunting club bought one of the first Parker Repr0's with the single selective trigger--he had it in Brad B's shop more often than he had it out shooting- clays or live birds..RWTF

Unfortunately it is a single trigger.

But I had to have it anyway.

They were talking about the P prototypes on the Parker Forum. Someone dug up an old post from 2011 from Richard Skeuse, son of "Mr. Skeuse".

I guess this could be the final word on the whole issue.

"Hi Guys, The "P" on the serial number was for Prototype. The first P numbered gun was # P 0026. I do not know how many were built as I was not that involved with them at that time. My father did not "give them away" as gifts etc. If you wanted one you ordered it just like anyone else, and you payed for it like anyone else. Hope that helps some."

"The P was only used on the first couple of orders of 20 Ga guns. It was not used after that. Only on 20's and nothing else. Thanks!"
