If so, what was your experience with it? My old gal Lucy was just diagnosed with it. I started her on Predisone yesterday and I just ordered the first bottle of Zycortal injectable. She is almost 12, might be done hunting but I want to be sure she enjoys the remainder of her life to the fullest.

Sorry to hear of this SKB, but from the literature, it seems manageable. I expect Lucy will be well cared for and have a very comfortable life in retirement.

Steve:

If you have not already done so, the intermal medicine folks at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, can help. I am a retired veterinaian so I will not give you any advice, but in years past I managed many patients with Addison's and they can have a full life. Contact CSU if your local veterinarian feels like the consultation would be helpful.

I rescued a senior Golden for my father. Senior dog with a lot of medical problems. Vet knew I was looking for a older dog for my late father. Called and said he had a dog which the family was going to put to sleep because they did not want to bother with complex medical problems but would let him be adopted instead. So you know I went and got him. My father had a bad habit of pampering his dogs until they were happy, fat dogs, who thought he was the greatest thing since dog bones. This golden was nine at the time we got him. He lasted until he was 13 and gained about 35 extra pounds. He did not die from Addison and outlasted all but one of his Golden's. So Addison is something you can deal with. We did have to watch for stress ut I am sure you already knew this.

We managed the same condition in my brother in law for almost 30 years. He is dong well except for a near terminal case of stupid, married to another case of stupid. Last I was told he and his wife were Druids or Wiccans who were going totally organic vegan and thinking about living off the grid. Yeah, thank God they are family by marriage and those genes will end with them. And surprise they voted for Biden. Hope your dog does not vote for Joe as well.

May have. If dead people can vote, dogs should be able to.

So, how many dead people voted, Stan? Got a count, even a rough approximation?

Give it a rest.

Looks like BrentD is having another melt-down over the forbidden thought that his anti-gun Liberal Left Democrats cheated to elect his illegitimate choice, Altzheimer Joe Biden.

Better be careful Stan.... free expression is not permitted anymore. The Democrat Thought Police are watching!

But if anyone needs proof that dead people vote.... just look at all the brain-dead Libtard gun owners who vote tor anti-gun Democrats.

A true sign of mental illness is any gun owner who would vote for an Anti-Gunner like Joe Biden.
