I once did the initial waxing on a cotton canvas "barn coat". I wanted to try a waxed cotton coat without the expense of a new one so I caught a nice, brown canvas barn/chore coat, flannel lined, on a sale rack. I bought two pint cans of Browning's reproofing wax, heated it carefully in a double boiler and brushed it on, while hot enough to be liquid, being as careful as possible to put it on evenly. I used a two inch wide, new paint brush. It turned out great, and has been one of my favorite lightweight coats for over 25 years. Over the years it's developed a nice patina.
I'm interested in how you reproofed yours too, John.
