just got in perhaps the best condition 20 ga a grade fox ejector gun that i have ever seen...

problem is, the top level will not stay to the right all the time when the gun is open...

is this a lube issue, loose screw issue or as old ed said on the phone today, there is a spring that is supposed to hold the lever back and it may be weak...

your input would be appreciated...

an speakin of old ed, he is now 95 and dont see awl that well to work on guns any more, but his knowledge and parts inventory is still just amazing!

Ed there is a rotary bolt that holds the lever over;it can get grungy in time. The spring can get weak; it may just need a strip and clean, very light lube. I would NOT suggest just putting oil on it.

The screw in the center of the trigger plate on the bottom of the frame has a little spring in the hole and the locking bolt hold over. 2 parts. You may need a small wire to grab it if it doesn't fall out by gravity. With the leaver in the gun closed position the hold over should drop out if not all gacked up. Try bumping the top of the gun with your hand to get it to drop out. Sounds like you might have dried up gunk up in the hole and the parts.

On occasion folks take them apart and that little spring falls out never to be found again. If its missing I'm sure Jason Barden has replacements or can advise what other spring might fit.
