I know I'm old and stupid but would someone actually pay this much for one of these https://www.gunauction.com/buy/17096974/
I learn something every day, and a lot of times it's that what I learned the day before was wrong

There's a Red Letter Model 37 in 28 gauge on GI with an asking price of $4250.00 and a number of other gauges selling for more than the $300.00+ listed on the gunauction site.

The red letters on the bottom increase the price. I use to use one just like that to shoot quail in California on the estate where my Aunt & Uncle were in domestic service.

At one time a 37 in Great shape(other than 12ga.) would bring $300 or more. Years ago I sold a 16ga. 99% cond.at the Allentown show for $300.

$300.0 was about average for a nice Model 37 at the gun store I last worked in 3 years ago. Usually it was gauges other than 12 ga. The sub gauge guns were generally higher priced, depending, of course, on condition.

If you want to collect. You can do it cheaply with single shots and they are “ winchesters” so naturally the less available gauges will climb. Im not drawn to guns in their Various gauges but rather the 16s and 28s in the various guns. I guess its the grouse hunter mentality, “ rarer the bird the greater the trophy type deal.
