OP 257rob Sidelock Joined: Feb 2020 Posts: 44 Likes: 1 Central Texas	I�m picking up a sukalle rifle today and wondering how much info is out there on him. I have no idea who made the stock but the barrel is marked w.a. Sukalle gunmaker. I�ll try to post some pictures tomorrow if there is interest. I think this is a late 40s custom. The stock looks good but nothing fancy. Comes with a G&h side mount and redfield peep.

You should be able to tell if he stocked your rifle by studying some photos on the internet. Some times his style is a bit 50 ish, but that was when he worked.. xausa Sidelock Joined: Apr 2006 Posts: 641 Likes: 2 Puryear, TN	The only problem I see with that rifle is with the Griffin & Howe mount, which was attached much too high in order to clear the unaltered bolt handle. The easy solution to that is to send the rifle back to G&H for a bolt handle job and a lowering of the scope mount. This is what I am referring to: Last edited by xausa; 03/07/20 06:38 AM.

I have no plans to alter anything. I mounted a Leupold scope using the siting G&H Mount and started shooting. Its probably my best shooting rifle I own and I hope to use it on whitetail deer this fall. No clue who the stock maker would be but not Minar, barrel dates to 1947.

The checkering pattern and the relief around the action opening as well as the shape of the bolt handle all look like 50's G&H to me. The plain black walnut though makes me wonder. Bill Ferguson
