I have a flues 16 ga that I have had to do enough repair work on the stock that the originality is shot so now I am only concerned with shootability.

My question is, do you see any issues with filling the hollow of the stock with something like devcon? I want a little more rearward weight. I figure this work do it.

Thoughts?

Thanks

I'd think if you hope for a weight distribution outcome, consider using something that's reversible and glue it in only when you're satisfied. Maybe, you can look up the density specs for the epoxy and see how it compares to something like lead? The gun could feel and handle differently if the weight is positioned in different parts of the hollow? Anyway, good luck withit.

I have used lead melted and poured into thin walled copper water pipe. I pad the weight slightly to prevent it from sliding and battering buttplate or wood and I don't make it too tight so the wood will not split if it shrinks due to humidity changes.

Make it reversible. Most people shoot better, and therefore prefer, a weight forward condition.

Ithaca knew what they were doing when they hollowed the stock.

I figured out a way to add weight without permanently filling the void. I will post when done.
