My source on early Scott guns indicates that in 1873 Scott added a mechanical means to retract the strikers. This gun has none.

On mine I removed the firing pins and cut ballpoint springs to proper length, put them on firing pins, and everything works perfectly. That was years ago and some thousand rounds later.
