looking at buying a Westely 12 bore. 1882. Listed as damascus. Awful muddy looking to me. I've owned a few WR's of this era and most were twist. Is it twist or damascus?

Mike - we need to see a lot more barrel, but this is a c. 1884 Greener marked 'English Best Laminated Steel' and it looks very similar

It could, might be a Bernard type pattern. It has the look like a scarf might show up and a different ribband made up the chamber area.
