KY John. You have the wrong stock doctor. The website you linked to is Dennis Smith. Not Mr.Yanchock.

Is this the person from Ohio that sometimes gives workshops on stock doctoring?

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Yanchok. When I started my business in 1990 there were only 2 "Stock Doctors" working in the gun industry. One in Wisconsin and me in Oregon. Over the years the name caught on as more people started repairing gunstocks as a major trade. When 2003 rolled around I know of 9 companies nationally plying that trade name. I am very much alive. Sunday's are usually the only day I do not work on the bench. I try to spend it with my family. I never met Ed Yanchock, but knew him thru posts on a trap shooting site. He was a significant player in ATA trap & had the honor of shooting & breaking the last target thrown at Vandalia. One of the good guys.. as is Mr. Dennis Earl Smith, whom I've had the pleasure of meeting at the DSC show.

a very pleasant man and a fixture in S.E. Pa and N.J. trap shoots. at one time had a nice collection of Remington 32s including one in the box.He let me kid him that he was the one who found it because he was the only guy tall enough to see it up on the shelf! sorry to hear of the passing of a knowledgable and nice man.
