A guy on another forum keeps referring to his guns as having "the finest Damascus barrels Sir Joseph ever made". I assume he means Whitwoth but I wasn't aware Whitworth made Damascus barrels?

While I am not Drew, I can tell you Whitworth steel was NOT damascus.

Steve is correct. There is no evidence that Sir Joseph's works in Manchester ever produced pattern welded barrels.

That gentleman is Dave Buehner, Beans, Ryman Gun Dog

You can add "Pine Creek/Dave" to the list of his pseudonyms, Drew.

He is as scary a character as Fox with the Runs once was. Foxy seems to have his meds under control after years of abuse. I sometimes wonder if they are one and the same.

Gentlemen if I can call you that,

Not one of you has ever met me or hunted with me, many have and yet you talk about me in a negative manner they never will, you might want to do some actual factual research and hunt with me, before you run your mouth in public. Knowledge is a wonderful thing, acquire some.

Having sportsman all over the world who know and respect me, they let me know when the fools are talking. I very seldom rebuke them, it's usually a waste of time.

I will however continue to inflict you, with my posts every once in a while.

Always glad hear from you gentlemen, positive or negative.

Dave, the only people that actually believe a word out of your mouth are the Kovites that live in the holler down the crick from you.
Most of us quit listening to you by the end of the last century.

Show some documented proof about your shotgun barrels and turn the earth on end.

Oh Beans...it's been too long. We had ALMOST run out of crazy around here. You can top us back up again!

Hey, tell us about your "set of silver breech L.C.Smiths." You dropped that but never told the story...a gift from John Hunter, as I recall??

Also, please explain how it is your Nitro Special (made by Ithaca) was engraved by BOTH Spangler (who was dead before they were even introduced, and never worked for Ithaca) and Krause (who also never worked at Ithaca).

I'm serious, give us stories. Im going down to get into my seriously good Scotch, then come back and read.

Get ready boys...the Andy Kaufman of gun forums is back!
