Just lucked into a nice little 24 Ga Belgium Hammer Double. Extractor, steel barrels, double triggers and extremely tight & weights in at 5lbs, 4 oz. Marked "For Mauritz Widforss /Stockholm" on the left lock and "T Illverkadt /Iliege" on the right lock. On the Rib is marked "Manufacture Ligeoise D'Armes A Fue Liege Fondee En 1866". From what I have found it appears the way the chokes are listed that the gun was built between 1910 and 1924 as that is when this way of designating the choke was used. I do have pics but do not have a way to post them at this point so if you have any other questions please let me know and I will do my best to answer them.
I do NOT believe it has been Nitro Proofed based on Proof marks but do not know what the ACM & ML w/crown in ovals meang. They are:
24 with a C inside a diamond
ELG inside and oval
What looks like the Ifel Tower
Choke 14.4 with a line under it and then 14.8 (left barrel)
Choke 14.8 on the right barrel
EL in script
ML with crown over it in oval
ACM in an oval
Water table has ML with Star under it in an oval and an H with a Star over it.
I have picked up so #8's by Fiocchi as well as some brass Magtech shells. What do you folks think, would it be safe to to shoot the Fiocchi's or are they too hot? This gun has triple bites (2 under bites and a Greener style cross bolt). Thanks for your assitance... WBLDon
