Does anyone know if Boss has their records in order to research and send you a copy of the entry for a fee like H&H and Purdey do? Their website didn't say anything, and surprisingly Google didn't turn up anything.

The book Boss & Co (Builders of Best Guns Only) by Donald Dallas has a lot of info. It was printed 1995 so perhaps not fully up to date.

Your best bet would be to contact Boss direct , then if no luck start to retrace your footsteps with Boss history .

I emailed Boss to get a letter in Nov 17. It took about 3 weeks to get a response and when I agreed to get a letter all communication stopped. My last email asked how they wanted payment and I got nothing in return.

Good luck and let me know if/how you are successful, as Id still like to get the lettter.

Roy moved on to seek new employment when the new American owner took over at Boss, Arthur DeMoulas. The current gun room manager is Sam Paine, who was very helpful to me obtaining info on 2 guns in May. A copy of the original ledger is available for 50. You must follow up your email with a telephone call. Obtaining gun histories is a low priority for the gun room, it appears. However, they will happily oblige your request with a bit of persistence.
