A fellow in Alaska is interested in one of my firearms. When sell guns in the lower 48 I simply ship to a FFL holder along with a copy of my drivers license. Does the same apply for a sale to an Alaska resident?

Depends upon the FFL. Some will only accept from another FFL. Some will accept from an individual. Get him to give you his FFL guy and contact them as see what they want.

Thanks, Mike. He got back to me and his shop is fine with a copy of a drivers license. His shop is going to email a copy of of their FFL.

Ship USPS registered. I believe it is cheaper than FedEx or UPS. I sold a gun end of last year to an Alaskan and that's what he told me to do, but you might want to verify it yourself. I ship USPS registered on all of my shipments out. Gil

Alaska is a US state. It is the same as shipping to anywhere else in the US.

I used to be a dealer/importer. I shipped and had all shipped to me via USPS registered. Never a problem except registered to Alaska can take 3 weeks.

I live in Alaska and I ship guns all the time. Alaska follows federal laws. So its the same as any other state that follows federal laws. I always us USPS Priority as Fedex and UPS will want about 3 times as much to ship a gun. USPS priority tales about a week.
