I found that muzzle loaders are fun for quail and pheasant hunting, particularly pen-raised birds with a dog. Its my thought that ducks or doves, where you have to be prepared to shoot when your prey comes to you, might be a bit frustrating on an active day. Im looking forwards to your thoughts about this subject after dove seasons over.

No matter what it should be fun!

On one of the most active doves hunts I've ever been on I was armed with my William Powell 13 bore...short time into the hunt a hammer screw went flying and I was down to one shot as fast as I could reload and the doves were swarming...
