I still regret not buying one of the "rediscovered" Bury sidelock 16's at the Vintagers about 15 years ago. I believe it was Smeets engraved, full kit with case and tools.

My problem lies in reconciling my gross habits with my net income.

Nice article. G&H has a nice pair of 1950’s era Bury’s They’ve been peddling for a bit. It is on their “new guns” page and unfortunately won’t hyperlink directly. Click over and look at them, they are stunning.

Here's the Jules Bury built Louis Christophe .450 BPE Double rifle I bought last year. I haven't had any luck finding out what the date code means.

The G&H Bury's are guns that were part of the cache found after WWII, I believe it was maybe a dozen 12 bores and three 16 bores.

All reputedly boxed up during WWII. I believe it was 17 12ga SLE, 1 20ga BLE, and 3 16ga SLE finished Guns as well as some 17 Britte side openers and a bunch of guns in the white and parts to include 12ga barrels.

I believe G&H got all the 12ga stuff.
http://www.[censored].com/shotguns/art-of-the-gun/the-fine-firearms-find-of-the-century.html

I believe the 3 16ga were sold at the vintagers before G&H got the rest.

The 20ga BLE is at Champlin’s in Enid.

Reportedly One 16 is in NY, one in TX, and the third in Chicago, but soon to Kansas

I love the Bury Guns and have five Christophe Guns by Bury one in 12, one in 16, 2 in 20ga, and a double rifle. I used to have a side plated 12ga BLE Bury, but it is long traded away.

They are selling them new as they were brought from the maker and have not been used.

I would love to know when they were all proofed as at least one 16 was proofed in the 1960’s which makes the story all were untouched since WWII not exactly right.

As others have stated before the article in Shooting Sportsman do not mention the 16ga Guns, but enough people saw them to be sure of their origins.

Just had a look at the G&H Burys. If I would buy a traditional Belgian gun, it should have the typical engraving "ličgois".... like this for example:

engraved by Schoffeniels:
