Flat or down in many cases with some exceptions such as small bore American doubles is my take. I sell a bunch of British guns for much less than they traded for ten years ago. On the bright side. there are some real deals out there now.

It depends. The perception is, in my view, that prices asked and realized on small bore guns have risen. Twelve gauge gun prices have declined, with the possible exception of longer barreled examples. Short barreled guns (26 and under) are not in demand resulting in lower prices. This is subjective on my part and based on casual observation and conversations with other SxS shooters. Look at the online dealers: they have had the same stuff in inventory for months, even years. Its a buyers market.

From this thread, prices have been stagnant or going down since 2006. A lot of doubles available whether your are looking at American classics or Brit guns. I'm still waiting for dealers to drop prices to meet demand!

It would be if the dealers would wake up. This has been discussed here many times. I see guns that are so out of fashion that the price is easy double what the gun would bring - and has been for over a couple years. go figure - that's just an expression - what is going on is clear and not likely to change unless private sale prices become common knowledge.

One, of several factors causing lower demand, are the humongous repair costs for classic doubles. When a spring costs as much to replace as a brand new semi auto, the result is avoidance. Few people want such a liabilty, they would rather buy an asset at 1200 bucks.

I don't know if they are flat or rising but I do know that every gun I "want" seems to be about $1000 more than I have in my gun fund. I don't seem to be catching up either.

Quality and condition still command a good price. The rest of the market is flooded with mid to low grade guns in average to poor condition. Why buy one worn out gun when you have 50 to pick from. Wait and buy the best you can for the least you are willing to pay.

Flat is an understatement. I have a friend who just picked up two Boss guns at auction for around 20 K total.

The Bosses that have sold cheap have not been great guns. So I don't know how cheap they really were.

Nice, original ones have been strong.

This pair was of 16g SxSs was great. They sold for $155,250:

This 16 OU was very nice. It brought $97,750:
